Tonight’s evening drink is OkamuraHonke‘s “Kinkame”. “Koori Ni Makenai Osake”. Catchy, isn’t it?
The label says, “When ice is added to a rich, delicious sake, it will have a really soft mouthfeel. We consider the sweet aroma to be the enjoyment of sake”.
At 19% alcohol, it is quite high. Its richness and the unique sweetness of Kinkame come to the fore, and it is certainly absolutely fine on the rocks.
Calculations show that if you pour 100㏄ of 19% sake into a glass and add 10-20g of ice, the alcohol concentration will still be about 15-17% when all the ice has melted.
Since regular sake is that concentrated, it is not at all diluted to the point of being undrinkable. This is a good thing.
My way of drinking is like this.
I often find that even chilled sake is getting lukewarm in the glass. But this way of drinking seems to reduce it. It was so delicious.
