Tonight’s evening drink is Fujii Honke’s Kyokujitsu “Hiyaoroshi Karakuchi Junmai Genshu”.
My first impression of the fragrance is that it is a bit heavy. It has 18% alcohol, which gives the impression that it is a strong drink.
I immediately tried it and found that the taste was mellower than I expected. but with a rich Tamasakae flavor.
The spiciness and strong acidity add to this, making I feel that it is dry. And it further amplifies the intensity of the flavor.
After the dry thirst-quenching taste, I can again enjoy the lingering flavor of the rice.
The full-bodied, drinkable taste is exactly what the label says it is: “Karakuchi Genshu“. Very tasty!
It is a heavy and thick sake, so I prefer to savor it slowly and carefully as the main ingredient, rather than drinking it with a meal. It is a sake with such presence.
