(53) BiwanoChoju “Junmaisyu”

Tonight’s evening drink is Ikemoto Shuzo’s BiwanoChoju “Junmaisyu”.

The first impression of the fragrance is rather normal. It has a pleasant aroma that wafts the flavor of rice.

Then I take a sip and the rice flavor comes in a flurry, as expected.

The spiciness and acidity are both felt at the same time, but both complement the flavor of the rice very well.

It can be called dry in a manner of speaking, but it is not that dry. It is like rice juice itself. It is very dense and delicious.

It does not seem so dry when swallowed. And it also leaves a delicious aftertaste of rice.

It is of course good with a meal, and is my very favorite type of sake.
