Tonight’s evening drink is NaminoOto Shuzo’s Te to Te “Junmai70 Hiire”.
According to the official website, it aims to be “an easy-drinking, fruity, light sake with a gorgeous aroma and delicious rice flavor”.
I myself have always liked fruity, sour and sweet sake, so I can really relate to this comment.
However, I am surprised to find myself liking dry sake more and more after getting into Shiga sake, haha.
The first impression of this sake is a rather gentle, light aroma. It is just as expected.
It is also less irritating on the palate and can be easily taken into the mouth.
What I perceive then is a mild acidity and sweetness with a hint of fruity.
It feels just like the label suggests, a refreshing and mildly sweet sake.
I think it is a delicious sake, finished just as the brewer’s toji intended it to be.
Since this is the lowest-priced junmai hi-ire, it may be positioned as an introductory sake in the “Te to Te” range.
Next time I would like to try a higher grade ginjo nama sake and enjoy the gorgeous flavor.
