This is the “Best Lunch in My Memory”. This lunch was one of the most impressive and delicious meals I had in Chinatown.

Braised Beef Belly in Szechuan Style
Lunch was in Chinatown.
I went to “Shimonshuro” on Chuzanro Street.
Today I ordered “Braised Beef Belly in Szechuan Style”.
Immediately, hot tea, soup, and Szechuan pickles.
The hot soup with chopped vegetables is very comfortable due to the air conditioning.
A few minutes of waiting. Rice and “Braised Beef Belly” arrived.
The thick stew looks spicy with big chili peppers on top.
Indeed, it could be quite dangerous to chew on these peppers.
At first, I spooned the mellow sauce and beef belly over the rice.
I gobbled it all up together, yummy!
Apart from the chili peppers on top, the spiciness is not strong. The beef is really melting in the sweet and spicy sauce.
The beef belly in chunks is also incredibly tender. I don’t even need teeth, haha.
A very high level of stewing. It was finished in no time at all.
For dessert, there were three choices: apricot pudding, mango pudding, and today’s “Shaoxing wine mousse”.
The taste and aroma of Shaoxing wine that almost made me drunk. Delicious sweetness. It is a superb dessert, indeed.
