(36) Kyokujitsu “Autumn Hiyaoroshi”

Tonight’s evening drink is here. This is Fujii Honke’s Kyokujitsu “Autumn Hiyaoroshi”.

This sake has a nice word on the label.

Among them, “Please enjoy hiya, chilled or heated sake” is a nice touch.

It means, “It tastes good no matter how you drink it”. So, it is “Hiyaoroshi” but served cold.

The first impression is a good aroma, which is typical of Japanese sake. It somehow creates a sense of security.

I immediately took a sip and found it to be mild in the mouth, quite sweet, and full of flavor. Delicious!

In the mouth, sweetness, acidity, and umami are well balanced and nice.

And just for a moment after swallowing, the spiciness passes right through.

The aftertaste is a long lasting rice flavor. It seems to be habit-forming.

It is very much my kind of sake.
