This is the “Best Lunch in My Memory”. This lunch was one of the most impressive and delicious meals I had in Chinatown.
Please take your time and enjoy.
White Mapo Tofu & Stir-fried beef with fresh tomatoes
Lunch was in Chinatown.
We went to “Shinron” on Chuzanro Street.
Two today. We ordered the “White Mapo Tofu” and the “Stir-fried Beef with Fresh Tomatoes“.
Immediately, hot tea, soup, rice and Chinese pickles.

Today, I asked for less rice.
A few minutes later. First, “White Mapo Tofu”.

At a quick glance, it doesn’t look like “Mapo Tofu”, does it?
The white thick bean paste that surrounds the crisp, square tofu is wonderful.

It doesn’t look too spicy, but the blue grains are sansho. They are quite tough.
I immediately snapped a piece of white Tofu with the bean paste. As expected, the pungent flavor hit my tongue. And it tastes quite garlicky.
Oh no, it’s delicious.
The quality of spiciness is totally different from the spiciness of the red chili peppers, hot sauce, and soy bean sauce in regular “Mapo Tofu”.
But this kind of spiciness is also good. It’s really delicious!
”Beef and Tomatoes” came later.

Nice visuals again!
A lot of small tomatoes cut in the shape of a comb

I immediately took a bite of one of the tomatoes and found it to be sweet and tart!
The sauce is quite sweet, but the acidity of the tomatoes covers it. Oh, I like this.
The shredded beef is well seasoned with the sauce. Vegetables are kikurage mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and carrots. A good combination.
Dessert was apricot jelly & coffee.

Today, too, is wonderfully satisfying…
