(29) Okubiwako “Yamahai zikomi”

Tonight’s evening drink is here. This is UeharaShuzo’s Okubiwako “Yamahai zikomi”.

Uehara Shuzo is famous for “Furosen”, but this is another brand of standard evening sake.

My first impression is that it has a unique aroma of Yamahai, or a strong, good aroma of rice.

The taste is mellow without being harsh, and the mouth is filled with the delicious flavor of rice and moderate acidity.

The spiciness is then added later, and the flavor gradually becomes more complex. It is a good feeling.

The throat irritation is gentle and I feel like I am drinking rice juice. It leaves a lingering aftertaste of umami.

Naturally, it is a standard evening sake, so it goes perfectly with any dish.

It is of course delicious, but what is surprising is its cost. It is really wonderful to think that people in Shiga can drink such sake on a daily basis.

  • Grade : 2 (RPR:65)
  • Rice : Hoshijirushi, Mitsuhikari
  • Alc : 15%
  • Price : 720ml 1,079yen

Thanks to today’s ShigaSake.
