(17) Asazio “Sekirei Naku”

Tonight’s evening drink is here. This is HiraiSyoten’s Asazio “Sekirei Naku”.

I am so happy to see the label of “Sekirei”(Wagtail). After all, I am a Piyo-chan-bird, too!

Wagtails are often seen in the city of Kyoto.

They do not run away when people approach them, so I can watch them quite closely.

I often see them mating with good friends instead of just one bird.

They are my favorite birds.

Hirai Shoten named the sake to be served during the “Sekirei-naku” season (September 12-16).

First impression is a soft fruity aroma. It’s nice.

When I take a sip, the sourness comes first, followed by a refreshing sweetness.

The acidity persists in the mouth, but the sweetness of the sake keeps it from being too harsh on the throat.

And the aftertaste is clean, with no lingering sweetness.

Personally, I prefer a rather fruity, sour, sweet type of sake, so this sake was in my strike zone.

As expected of you, Wagtails…
