This is the “Best Lunch in My Memory”. This lunch was one of the most impressive and delicious meals I had in Chinatown.
Please take your time and enjoy.
Small Party at KakinHanten
It was Sunday and it was lunch in Chinatown.
We went to “KakinHanten“, which opened at the end of last year on Ichiba Street.
It may be because it’s their first time, but they are doing a great job. I want to support them.
”Cod and tofu stew” from the lunch menu.
Normally, Japanese people think “cod + tofu = yudofu”, but it is indeed Chinese style.
It was totally different.
Koromo-deep-fried cod fillets, silken tofu, green onions, carrots, and green peas in a thick broth.
Shaoxing wine goes well with it. Oh no, it’s good, isn’t it?
“Boiled Kawahagi in soy sauce“, also from the lunch menu.
It’s rare to find “Boiled Kawahagi in soy sauce” in Chinatown, isn’t it? I mean, is it possible? , haha.
The reason why such a fish dish is served is because it is managed by the fresh fish store next door.
The restaurant aims to be a “fish-centered restaurant,” which is rare in Chinatown.
I have high expectations for this restaurant, because I would rather eat fish than meat.
Incidentally, this dish is also “fish stew” but in a Chinese style.
It is totally different from Japanese simmered dishes.
I heard that the owner’s family and the chef are from the Fukken region of China, so they are very good with seafood.
Shaoxing wine is good, haha.
This is “stir-fried chicken with chili peppers”.
I was not expecting much from this dish, since Fukken dishes are generally not spicy.
But it was unexpectedly spicy and very tasty.
The chef must be very skillful.
The lady at the restaurant talked to us and was very friendly.
While we were talking, I was given some homemade Chinese pickles.
It was a rather sweet flavor that made it very easy to eat.
It was a very delicious lunch.
